Mindful photography is about much more than creating pleasing images; it’s about how you relate to the present moment, using your camera as a tool to expand your awareness and deepen your connection with the natural world.
This two-hour workshop will take place at Wiawaka Center for Women on Lake George. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, you’ll discover how engaging with photography contemplatively can enhance both your images and your life by fostering focus, presence, patience, beginner’s mind (seeing things as if for the first time), and heart qualities such as caring, connection, and gratitude. Basic technical guidance will be woven in as questions arise, but the heart of the workshop is learning to slow down and truly see.
This workshop is for anyone curious about photography, mindfulness, or deepening their connection with nature. No prior experience is necessary. Bring any camera—phone, point-and-shoot, DSLR, mirrorless. The best camera is the one you use most.
Register directly through Wiawaka. (If the workshop isn’t listed yet on the Wiawaka website, check back soon.)
